Detroit opens temporary overnight shelter as temperatures drop

The shelter, at 13130 Woodward Avenue, opened at 8 p.m. Monday, the city said in a press release. The site, operated by Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, will close at noon on Saturday, Jan. 3. Residents may access the shelter any time during that period, the city said; No referral is needed.
