One question we get asked a lot with our Artificial Reef deployments is ‘Why don’t you build them on land and drop them in?’ ❓ Because they’re heavy! As you can see, each module is either 5 or 20kg…and, when one reef can use 20 modules, that’s not so easy to move around*. Our new MegaMars structure has around 90 individual modules, weighing in at around 1160kg 💪 So why don’t we get a rig to lower it down? We’re on a remote island!
