Gensan’s Central Materials Recovery Facility is the Philippines’ first large-scale mechanized material recovery facility and can process 40 tons of waste per day converting plastics into materials for concrete pavers and other by-products, bio-waste into organic fertilizer and other sorted waste into materials with economics values. The CMRF costs more than P35 million but was granted to General Santos City for free by the UNIDO through the United Nations Development Programme-Global Environment
