During last nights protest in downtown Los Angeles, I witnessed something I never had in my extensive years of documenting protests: the police left. This video was taken shortly after LAPD in riot gear, ready with zip tie handcuffs, had just “boxed in” or “kettled” (the proper term) many protestors and were about to arrest them.
